WhatsApp ya ofrecía la posibilidad de editar mensajes para corregir errores o realizar pequeños cambios en mensajes ya enviados. Sin embargo, esta característica tenía algunas limitaciones importantes:

Límite de tiempo: WhatsApp permitió la edición de mensajes solo dentro de un corto período de tiempo después del envío (aproximadamente una hora). Después de este período, los mensajes ya no se podrán editar.

Indicación de edición: cuando se editaba un mensaje, la aplicación mostraba “Editado” junto al mensaje para que los destinatarios supieran que se había modificado.

Contenido original visible: incluso después de editarlo, los destinatarios aún pueden ver el contenido original del mensaje. La edición no borró lo escrito originalmente.

WhatsApp continuó mejorando sus características y funcionalidades y es posible que haya habido actualizaciones desde entonces.
